Ann V. Sheffer has been an instructor of English for the past twenty-seven years at Dover Senior High School in Dover, Pennsylvania. During her tenure at Dover, she has had the fortune to work with students of all grade and academic levels. Her passion, however, is teaching American literature to her Honors English 11 students, where she also developed her love of the Socratic Seminar. She and her honors students were fortunate enough to be featured in a state training film for Pennsylvania teachers on the Paideia method. Currently, she serves as the gifted support teacher for identified high school students. She earned a BS degree from Clarion University, a M.Ed. with reading specialist certification from Shippensburg University, and her Supervisory Certification in Curriculum and Instruction from Millersville University. She loves the transcendence of nature and currently resides on Bear Mountain in Adams County with her husband, Mark, cats, Stewart and Alistair, and Bernese Mountain dog, Marta.
