The 21 Top TikTok Accounts to Follow on #TeacherTok

TikTok colors and geometric shapes

In April 2020, we were inside with nothing to do.

The COVID-19 virus closed businesses and schools, sending most of us indoors. To pass the time, millions found a new app to explore: TikTok. The app received 315 million downloads in 2020’s first quarter, making it the most successful quarter ever for an app.

During this time, educators across the world connected on TikTok through the hashtag #TeacherTok, which evolved from a hashtag into a colloquial term for the community as a whole. During distance learning, educators found inspiration from other TikTok users and had an accessible platform where their frustrations and challenges were validated by their peers.

Since then, #TeacherTok has thrived and been a go-to for educators looking for tips, resources or relatable teaching humor. Many educators have built significant platforms with their content, which has helped their peers’ own teaching practices.

As a gift to our teachers, we’ve scoured #TeacherTok for some must-follow creators.
