5 Top Twitter Chats For New & Alternate Route Teachers

To get the most out of Twitter, you have to invest a little time. Educators often describe Twitter as the most positive faculty lounge to be a part of.  So with that said, we are sharing a list of some of our favorite Saturday morning Twitter chats. The conversation, resources, and ideas that come out of those chats are invaluable. We encourage you to give one a try!

Understandably, many new teachers have never participated in a Twitter chat; so, we've also compiled some tips and resources.  To help you prepare for your first Twitter chat, consider the following:

  1. Don't leave your profile blank. Use some sort of profile photo, and share what you teach in your bio! It will help other teachers of the same subject and/or grade level to find and connect with you. You can read more about this here.

  2. Set a reminder or jot down the day and time of the chat so that you don't forget about it.

  3. Learn how to participate in a Twitter chat by viewing this tutorial.
