Celebrating SuperHeroic Math Teacher—Brittini Piercy

Brittini Piercy: Rocks at ratios, can slice evil with a protractor, and predicts the future with probability. Brittini teaches 6th and 7th grade math.

Special Power: Patience. Brittini’s patience power was activated upon learning this valuable lesson during her teaching experience: “Growth doesn't happen overnight and sometimes it doesn't happen before the end of the week, but it is up to the educators to be positive and motivate the kids to keep pushing through.”

Heroic Motivation: Watching her struggling 6th graders sharpen their math skills inspires Brittini to continue encouraging her students to succeed. Their progress ensures that the effort she invests pays off. There was one moment in particular that has stayed with Brittini over the years:

“I knew my place as an educator was worthwhile when a student who consistently says I will never use or understand math finally said, "I get it!" As an educator you have to want to persevere and serve the kids, it's all about their future!”
