Math antics is a math site that is full of resources, examples for students from 3rd to 8th grade. I love that students can launch and navigate the app independently.
While no performance summary or student product is saved, math antics is an app that teaches basic math in a fun and engaging way.
I love that most of the lessons are free to watch on youtube and on their web sites. However, there is the option of paid membership to gain access to print based worksheets and exercises that can be used with each lesson.

Wow! There are so many great resources here that I was never aware of. I would say that Teacher Vision is going to be really useful to me next year. There were some subjects in math that I struggled to teach to the best of my ability. Math has changes a lot since I was in elementary school, and having a resource that can guide you through different topics and show you how to properly teach it is super useful! The website is also very user friendly. You can simply type in a topic into the search bar and all of the available resources appear!

This resource is good for lesson planning. It has many online resources that teachers can add to enhance lessons. It is also especially relevant as it incorporates standards that align with NJ state standards. It also encourages higher order thinking skills through enrichment focused learning resources. It offers content at multiple levels that allows for customization by teachers to meet student needs through sample lesson plans and worksheets. The output of Illustrative Mathematics is the lesson plans and worksheets which are helpful for teachers looking for more examples outside of their textbook.

I love using Kuta Software. It allows me to create multiple versions of an assignment, which I can vary be degree of difficulty. I use this software to generate classwork, homework and even quizzes. I highly recommend this software to teachers. The topics covered are comprehensive and the Geometry is the best. The Geometry software has the capability to create diagrams that I used to create by hand.

Blooket is extremely engaging because of its competitive nature and its many modes such as gold rush and fishing frenzy. Kids go wild for it, and they learn while having fun. Its super easy to use all students need is to type in a code choose an avatar and nickname. Feedback is immediate after answering a question. Blookets are completely customizable, and they allow teachers to make the questions, or you can just choose a preset option. Blookets are great for data because after finishing the round a teacher can easily view and export the data to see how well their students preformed on each individual question. I give Blooket a 4 for relevancy, 4 for customization, a 4 for feedback, 3.5 for Thinking Skills (This depends on the mode and the quality of questions the teacher creates), a 4 for usability, a 4 for engagement, and a 4 for sharing. 27.5/28 Fantastic app overall I highly recommend it!

Blooket is a great app to test what students know and should be used as a supplement and not at the beginning stages of when a concept is first introduced. It encourages the use of higher order thinking skills but students must be monitored to ensure they are actually solving the problems and not just guessing. Detailed feedback allows the teacher to monitor progress of students. Allows teachers to customize their questions and keep students engaged throughout the game because they are being quizzed with specific grade level material.

Virtual Nerd videos are embedded in the enVision interactive lesson plans that I use for daily instruction. I assign the videos for every lesson. They offer my students a concise evaluation of every lesson. The videos are aligned with Common Core standards that have clear explanations and supporting visual notes. The application is well organized and provides an excellent resource for various forms of independent and group learning. The videos are presented in a scholastic manner and avoid the distractions of gaming videos. They are an excellent review source and combine the aspects of mathematical literacy and numeracy needed in today’s learning environment. My students enjoy watching the videos and use them as a reliable reference when preparing for future assessments.

I absolutely love the Ck-12 resource website. It provides all of the math standards with the corresponding lessons. It allows for adaptive practice with tutorials and help links along the way. There are great visual representations of math problems and real world examples demonstrated throughout the practice sessions. Students are given a goal to achieve 10 correct responses before moving onto the next level. It is a great motivator and will keep students engaged throughout the lesson. I am so excited to use this for the upcoming school year!

I was very happy to read this blog post because there are so many interesting and new sites for me to try out but I was most excited to see Blooket. Last year I discovered this game from one of my students and I remembered the kids absolutely loving it but when I started this school year, I could not remember the name of it. This app is perfect for my students, they are highly motivated to play, they can play it on their own and there are a lot of already premade sets I can use but I can also make my own. It does give me reports on how many and what questions students got wrong so that is helpful for me to go back and review.

Desmos is easy to use, students often already are proficient with it when they come to my class. It is convenient to display complicated graphs to discuss with the class, but also to allow students to generate their own graphs, even displaying several functions at once, so that similarities and differences can be easily seen visually. I have found it useful in classing ranging from Geometry (mostly as a calculator) to Calculus 2 and beyond (Parametric and Polar equations).

IXL is a great app for teachers to use with their students. Teachers can choose from any grade level and topic, which allows them to best serve their students. While IXL requires teachers to assign lessons, students get immediate feedback on each question. They are told if the answer is correct or not and shown how to do it correctly. Teachers can also save and export student data to use to prepare future learning opportunities. One downside to the app is that students are not motivated to work on it. There is no "game" aspect and students are just answering questions.
Overall, IXL is an app that is beneficial to students and teacher.

Hello everyone I am a 7th/ 8th grade resource room math teacher and I have to say I really enjoyed this app and all the insight and different math programs provided. Its very useful especially for first time teacher like myself. This is my first year of teaching and one program I have used that I loved so much was "Math antics". This site has allowed me to introduce each of my lessons with a video first for my visual learners and then it provided resources and activity that had all my students engaged. I truly loved it and I was so mad when my trial was over and seeing how expensive it was. This is not one my district has purchased but I wish they would. It is so useful. This site has resources for grades 3rd to 8th grade. I used this app as a trial but I would love to use its full access I guess I can present it to my supervisor. I love that students can launch and navigate the app independently even though I could do this I sure this would be a great resource.
Math antic is an app that provides and helps teacher make their math lessons more engaging and fun. I love that ever lesson has a video and the videos actually keep the students engaged and interested because they use things that interest the students such as food, animals, ect...

Of all the apps I have reviewed and used, I personally think the Illustrative Mathematics app is best for encouraging higher-order thinking in students . It is highly engaging students, particularly the think-pair-share activity, because it motivates students to actively participate. It provides real-life examples, helping students connect and integrate abstract representations of concepts to real life situations for better understanding. It is also highly relevant as it aligns with the New Jersey Standards and offers multiple levels for differentiated learning.

I've used Desmos for my classes a lot. It is very easy to use and intuitive without requiring any training. We've used mostly the graphing calculator for graphing radical, rational, and logarithmic functions. Students are using Desmos for homework especially for determining domain and range of functions. Being able to graph a lot of different functions without a lot of effort has helped them develop their critical thinking around how different types of functions behave. I highly recommend it.

ALEKS is a self-assessment tool in mathematics where the student practices what they learned in class. It is a tool that can be used by the student individually and where the data records the student's effectiveness in the number of responses obtained. At the beginning, the program applies a test with the purpose of establishing the level or starting point that the student will have according to the level of knowledge found. The level of demand increases according to the progress that the student makes.

As a high school math teacher, I find Edpuzzle to be highly effective based on the Educational App Review Rubric. In terms of relevance, Edpuzzle scores a 4, as its focus strongly connects to reinforcing math concepts through interactive video lessons, making it appropriate for my students. Customization is another strong point, earning a 4, as the app offers complete flexibility to alter content and settings to meet student needs. The feedback provided is specific and immediate, also warranting a 4, as it helps keep concepts fresh in students' minds. For thinking skills, Edpuzzle encourages higher-order thinking, including creating, evaluating, and analyzing, deserving a 4. The app's usability is excellent, scoring a 4, since students can launch and operate it independently. Engagement is high, with students motivated to use the app, thus earning another 4. Lastly, the app allows for specific performance summaries and student products to be saved and exported, scoring a 4 in sharing. Overall, Edpuzzle is an outstanding tool for enhancing student learning and engagement in my math classes.

Delta Math is an amazing resource for both teachers and students. I use this daily in my algebra 1 class. Students are given the option to view videos and see explanations for questions in their assignments. There is also the option for students to upload a photo their work for their assignment. On the teacher's side, I love how customizable this program is. I can design the number of questions, topics, level of difficulty, and various other elements when creating an assignment. There is also a feature where you can download a PDF copy of the assignment. I have done this numerous times for quizzes. Lastly, this program connects right to Google Classroom which makes grading easy as well.

DeltaMath App Evaluation

For the peer-recommended resources listed, I chose to review DeltaMath.com as that is something that was introduced by another peer at my current school to use for homework assignments. Based on the Educational App Evaluation Rubric, I would say that app covers relevant topics and provides a variety of problems so that no two students in a classroom are given the same homework problems (aka students aren’t able to “cheat off” each other). I think the feedback section can be better enhanced. Currently, students are able to hit a “Help” button that shows the student another how to solve a similar problem. I would like the app to nudge or provide helpful hints on what the students should be focused on first to solve the problem. The usability of the app varies depending on the topic being assessed. I think for usability, the app can definitely use some improvements. I also noticed that with delta math, teachers can choose whether students can be penalized with too many wrong answers. I didn’t realize this when I first tested it out and my students were really frustrated because their prior problems marked correct were being discounted. I do like that the app auto grades for accuracy and completion, as well as let teachers know when the assignment was completed. Overall, I’d give this app a 3.25 out of 4.

There are great resources for mathematics teachers can use to assist students learning. I have used programs such as NJCTL and it helped to prepare for lessons and students to reach the learning objectives. It provides assessments and slides that can help math teachers use in their classrooms. The resources can also be modify for the teachers needs. I will like to incorporate different resources such as crash course kids creating an engaging environment for the students to learn. Students can learn from videos and enjoy the time to hear from another person. Khan Academy is a well-known resources and helpful for students who will need additional support throughout the lesson. In geometry, there is little algebra but providing algebra at home to prepare them for Algebra 2 next year can make a difference towards their mathematic skills. I will like to also use edpuzzles and create an engagement environment and check for understanding throughout the lesson. My students are still kids and they enjoy playing games and becoming competitive. Hence, apps like blooket will give the students a chance to have fun and play against one another while learning.

Achieve the Core (.org) is my new favorite resource. The purpose of this site is to offer free resources and information that supports equitable learning. While this site is not student-centered, it will help me to connect more of my math curriculum with both previous skills and concepts students should have mastered and future skills and concepts that students will eventually learn. This resource is very relevant to its purpose because it offers many resources, both internally and externally. I can use this resource to research coherence maps, explore prior grade level tasks for pre-teach and do nows and build upon my supplemental resources. While there is no performance summary to be used on here, I am able to create my own with an overall understanding of standards both past, present and future that will help me equip my students for success. Not only does this resource help me develop higher order questions, it also delves into Socio-emotional education as it can be paired with math. This summer, I am learning an entirely new curriculum for next year, and I know I’ll utilize those coherence maps to develop effective lessons as I move forward in my career.

Edpuzzle is a great website to get students thinking about the next topic. It is an education video website that allows students to watch videos and answer questions as they follow along. While this is very great for introducing a topic, it is not enough on its own. I recommend it as a supplement to your lesson. I prefer to use it to introduce what we will learn the next day. My students and I discuss the Edpuzzle and the lesson begins. I find students like Edpuzzles because of the visuals that are usually incorporated (for example, math antics). It is also integrated with google classroom, allowing students to see Edpuzzle as an assignment on google classroom.
